What’s Crackin: The Bread & Butter Tour 2011
Cariboo Brewing, Smokezone, and D. Clarke Plumbing present… The Bread & Butter Tour featuring Sirreal, Baby C, Enzo, SD and DJ Samson.

The tour kicked off Friday, Nov.4 at Shine Nightclub in Vancouver. 33OneThird & The Kids opened the night with 5 emcees sharing the spotlight to produce one dope set. These cats from Ladner have been rocking shows with me for the past 7 years and they step there game up every time I see them perform. The honey lager Cariboo shorties were out in full force represented by a sea of orange bottles in the audience. Hype crowd + great performances + dope venue = successful first show on tour.

I may or may not have consumed one too many honey lagers by the end of Friday night, because I woke up Saturday morning in rough shape. Nevertheless, I pulled my shit together, grabbed come Cariboo and jumped in the whip with the Bread & Butter crew. Five dudes and one chick, not bad odds. DJ Samson, aka Mc. Swervey, took the wheel cuz the rest of the group had DUI’s or N’s. Hungover, we headed out to our next venue, Pogue Mahone’s in Kamploops. The snowy mountains got me pumped for this snowboard season. Upon arrival, we stopped by a homie’s place who welcomed us to the city with a courteous steak and crab dinner and free beer. Not bad for being on the road. During sound checks, I was getting ready in the bar’s washroom as 2 chicks entered. They clearly snorted a line off the toilet and proceeded to lift me up and spin me in circles shouting “I can’t believe I just met a female rapper sponsored by Cariboo!!” Good start to the night. The show started off with 2 locals act by Basic Value and Nigel B. Both sets with high energy and got the crowd bumping. The crowd was loving the free Cariboo and Smokezone give-aways and the ladies repped the boo shirts all night. Despite the fact that every person at the show was on coke, I still credit the amazing live performances for the crowd’s high.

Next stop: Kelowna. We rolled up to the venue, Sapphire, and were greeted by a large crowd of people. What looked to be fans at first glance, turned out to be multiple crack heads trying to get a spot to sleep at the thrift store across the street. Sketchy. To nurse hang-over #2, we posted up in a hotel, chilled out in the hot tub and sipped Alize and champagne like some classy motherf*****s. The local openers may have bailed last minute and there may not have been many people that showed up for the Kelowna show, but the venue was beautiful and we made the best out of the situation. For the third night in a row, we partied like rock stars, chugging Cariboo and smoking chronic and….now, my liver hates me.

After detoxing it for 4 days, we are heading to Salmon Arm on Friday, Nov.11, to polish off the tour at Sturgis Pub. It was been a drunken gong-show thus far, so if you live around the area, come party with some of the best hip hop emcees that Vancity and V.I. have to offer. Bread & Butter baby!
